Under the White Oak Tree from Silvershod by Adrienne Segur, 1958
Children's book illustrator Adrienne Segur was the daughter of French Writer Nicolas Segur. Her family associated with many famous artists, poets and writers of the time and led a glamourous cosmopolitan life. Adrienne however, preferred to surround herself with unpretentious animals as companions, and her illustrative work of the 60's and 70's depicted a simple forest-dwelling life.

The original story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was written in German by Brothers Grimm and was later translated to English by Edgar Taylor in 1823. Several alternate stories followed. The origin of the evil Queen can be traced to a character named "Silver Tree", a jealous queen who threatened her daughter in the Celtic oral tale "Gold Tree and Silver Tree". In Welsh mythology, this character embodied an evil female antagonist with troublesome self esteem issues (aka Post-modern Feminism).
Artist and title unknown, but such a pretty painting of an unsettled, but beautiful sky. A few messages here about shifting, trouble, renewal and hope..
