The End of an Era..

I will be closing my teaching studio mid-December 2024. I am retiring from teaching after 24 years at the Loft Studios location. I am so grateful to all of my loyal students and all the friends I've made over the years. My students have been an inspiration to me, and they have taught me about myself, and the world.

I will be staying in the space for a little while - a few months or so.  To do my own thing, decompress, and enjoy my introversion.

I will use the space to learn a new skill - sewing and upcycling. Combining a few things I love: thrifting, clothes and collage. I will continue to have mini art exhibits for Kleinwerks Gallery, tinker with dollhouses, paint, and make assemblages.

So continue exploring, try new things, and never stop learning.

House of Cards

Kleinwerks Gallery presents Farbewald Oct 1-15 at The Loft Studios

Translated from German, Farbewald means "Colourful Forest". The  miniature installation represents colour-laden trees in a typical Fall forest. The individual pieces are made from small blocks of wood in the shape of squares, spheres and cylinders from which all realistic art is begins. The sparse negative space between the pieces symbolize the growing loss of forested areas from over-development in many of our communities.

Farbewald is on view by appointment Oct 1-15. Miniature pieces are $10 each. 1/2 of all sales of sculptures donated to Critter Care Wildlife Society which rescues displaced and orphaned animals in the Langley area.

Same place, New Studio!

I've moved my teaching studio back to the first studio I taught out of from 2000 to 2010.

I've opted for a homey feel and a cozy vibe with area rug, lace curtains, and classical music.

Class sizes are smaller, more intimate, and designed for comfort.

Continue learning about drawing, painting, collage, mixed-media in a structured, but relaxed environment.
