"I cross out words so you will see them more."
Jean Michel Basquiat
Poet Apollinaire defined pure abstraction like this:
"The art of painting new structures out of elements that have not been borrowed from the visual sphere, but have been created entirely by the artist is pure art."

Waiting for a New Year
This is the time to be slow
Lie low to the wall
Until the bitter Winter passes
Try as best you can not to let
The wire brush of doubt
Scrape from your heart
All sense of yourself
And your hesitant light.
If you remain generous
Time will come good
And you will find your feet
Again on fresh pastures of promise
Where the air will be kind
And blushed with new beginning.
John O'Donahue
I understand why people like fireworks, the glittery colours against the night sky, and the surprise of new streams of colour after the bangs and pops, but I have never condoned this practice for the sake of animals.
Fireworks frighten domestic animals and disorient wildlife and birds. Some pets develop PTSD from the noise and some pets escape their homes, run off and get lost. Horses and cattle sustain injuries from trying to escape their barns. Wildlife run in panic and get hit by cars. All this, because they don't understand the noise and lights.
Please consider celebrating the New Year without noisy fireworks displays.
The animals will thank you.
"Ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you.
Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you." - Job 12:7-8
"For unto you is born this day, in the City of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: for you will find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger."
Luke 2: 11-12

"The real voyage of discovery consists not of seeking new landscapes, but rather, having new eyes to see."
